On Saturday, ISIS Members managed to control the oil facility of the Al-Kam II (T2), one of the most important oil installations in Deir Ezzor, following violent clashes with the Assad regime and Iranian-backed sectarian militias.
According to information received by the “Euphrates Post”, the organization was able in this attack, the killing and wounding and the dozens of elements of the regime (mostly from the Fifth Division – special missions) and the sectarian militias that controlled the facility.According to the information obtained by our network from sources, that the elements of the organization, which are located in large areas of the Badia, attacked hundreds of them, the station was headed by the so-called “Angmas” During its attack, ISIS did not use heavy weapons, to be attacked through booby traps and light weapons.
Our sources pointed out that attempts by the regime, militias and the help of military aircraft during the past hours to restore them, but to no avail.
This field development coincided with the establishment of military positions by the regime and militias in the areas near the Euphrates River in the city of Albukmal and its eastern countryside, following the launching of several attacks during the last few days by infiltration from the northern side of the river.
This facility, which was controlled by the regime forces and the Iranian and Hizballah militias in October 2017, is the only point connecting the T1 station in Iraq with a 48-inch line and T3, T4 and T5 stations inside Syrian territory, through which oil reaches the Syrian coast.
The oil pumping station “T2” is connected to the oil field in Deir Ez-Zor countryside via a 24-inch pipe for transporting oil. It is connected to a road junction from the north
in the fields, to the east by “Hawa’aj” and to the southeast by the Iraqi border.
T3, T3, T4 and T5 in Syria, which are known by specialists as pumping stations from Iraq to Syria, were established by Britain in the 1920s.and stay work it Nowadays.
It is worth mentioning that most of the oil and gas fields in Deir Ezzor suffer from the destruction of its infrastructure because of the bombing it has suffered during the past years, both from the regime and the Russians on the one hand, or from the international coalition on the other.
